AMC parts overall may be harder to find, but the AMC hobby has benefited greatly from remanufactured parts. Engine parts are the easiest to find, since Jeep used AMC engines even after the demise of American Motors in 1987. Most AMC engine parts can be found on the shelf at your local auto parts stores.
